Buddha Day

It really felt the Buddha Shakyamuni had visited us in Stockport last night.

The full moon in May was on Monday 12th so we decided to hold our Stockport celebration of Wessak at our Thursday meeting.  The sun was shining and it seemed a more reflective evening was appropriate.  Buddhasevaka set the mood with a rather special Buddha Shakyamuni visualisation creating a meeting with the Buddha and receiving a teaching.  A simple teaching that we can hold to our hearts and carry with us each moment.

We then moved into a silent / sharing space where out of the silence we each offered a vers, quote or reading.

To continue the reflective mood we had a silent tea break.  Quite an achievement by the Stockport Group as we do like a good chat with our tea and biscuits.

Sraddhatara then led us in a spacious Buddha puja and the evening ended with a period of silence and a mantra.
