Autumn Equinox

, ,

We are intrinsically linked to the seasons as humans living on this planet. But for many of us spending much of our time in centrally heated houses and sterile offices, we feel that the natural cycles of the seasons are not important.  The joys of slowing down as the nights draw in and embracing this season of ‘mist and mellow fruitfulness’ can sometimes escape our attention.

At the Stockport Group we have been celebrating the changing seasons, marking the Summer and Winter solstice together with the Spring and Autumn equinox.

A beautiful Autumn shrine was co-created by our Group as Chandana introduced Mabon (the autumn equinox) and brought in the Buddha of the setting sun, Amitabha.

Autumn themed poems were shared and the evening concluded with an Amitabha puja, led by Dharmakasara.
