Vajrasattva

,

Chandana led an evening of introduction to Vajrasattva, the mythic ‘adibuddha’ with whom he has had a ritual connection since his ordination in 2007.

Vajrasattva wears a crown that includes the 5 Buddhas of the ‘mandala’, their 5 colours representing distinct aspects of the Awakened mind. If we imagine these colours as the results of diffracting pure, white light through a prism, we can see Vajrasattva in terms of that pure, primordial light. He represents unconditioned purity – the potential state of our own minds once we set aside our unskilfulness and delusion.

Chandana also shared some personal recollections about his choice of Vajrasattva prior to, and during, his ordination.
