Prasiddhi shared some thoughts on the Heart Sutra, explaining its origins and how, in it, Avaloketshvara talks to Sariputra about the need to transcend wisdom in moving towards Perfect Wisdom, culminating in a beautiful mantra, evoking enlightenment.
It can have a very direct impact on how we live, with its reminders to let go of fixed views and connect us with the ideal of enlightenment.
Prasiddhi invited our Sangha to engage with the poetic qualities of the Sutra, letting our emotions draw us to whatever lines resonate. In his case it is the line ‘holding to nothing whatever’ that evokes the strongest response.
