Buddhasevaka led us in a period of meditation at the start of the evening. He focused on somatic awareness and then guided us through the mindfulness of breathing. This set the tone for a beautifully curated evening, dedicated to the mirror-like wisdom of Akshobya.
Prasiddhi, employing a lovely light touch, invited us to focus on the Tantric figure, which he is drawn to and meditates upon.
Akshobya is a significant Buddha in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. Known as the “Immovable one”, he represents the wisdom of transforming hatred into clarity.
Having carefully crafted a simple shrine with notes explaining the relevance of certain items, we explored Akshobya’s magical world before breaking off into small discussion groups.
The evening finished with a closing ritual dedicated to our wonderful new friend.
