Halloween 🎃

Halloween at the Stockport Group. We decided to face the shadows and embrace this time of year when nature is settling for its winter sleep and the veils between worlds are thin.

Buddhasevaka led us in an arriving meditation invoking the spirit of Halloween. We then had a talk based on the children’s book ‘Where the Wild Things are’.

The usual interpretation of the story is a child’s understanding of strong emotions. But another interpretation was offered – we can journey into our unconscious and instead of denying or repressing our ‘Wild Things’ (strong negative emotions) we can look them in the eye and integrate their energies!

The evening concluded with a Metta Bhavana and a three fold puja. A great way to embrace this time of year!
