Our Stockport Group celebrated the winter solstice led by Chandana. It was nearly a full house and there was almost standing room only for any latecomers! It was a beautiful evening bringing to mind the shortening of the days and the potential of brighter days to come.
Each of us brought a poem inspired by this time of year. The poems were read from silence with the room darkened, lit by the candles on the shrine.
Mary read an invocation to Vairocana who is associated with brilliant light. This wove the time of year and the potential for the lighter days to come with the Buddha at the heart of the five Buddha mandala.
She then led a visualisation meditation and the evening concluded with a seven fold puja to Vairocana led by Sraddhatara. A special evening!
