On Thursday evening we had a slight change in focus to concentrate on meditation. Dealing with our lived moment-by-moment experience without commentary or judgment.
We did two very different practices, Just Sitting (also known as Pure Awareness) and a body scan. Together they provided two doors to the same space. That of an expansive, kind presence
In Just Sitting we do literally that. We simply open ourselves up to our thoughts, feelings and sensation without the usual overlay of narrative. Not grasping or pushing anything away allowing us to experience our true nature.
There are countless ways to do Body Scans, the one we did was to follow prescriptive direction of bringing awareness to the whole body and then dropping deeper into energetic sensations of our lived somatic experience.
